A Beginner's Guide to Prostate Stimulation and Prostate Orgasm

A Beginner's Guide to Prostate Stimulation and Prostate Orgasm

At Naughty North, we often hear questions about prostate stimulation and how to get started. Exploring the prostate can provide deeply pleasurable sensations while also helping you better understand this highly sensitive part of the body. Often referred to as the P-spot, the prostate is known for its ability to enhance arousal, intensify orgasms, and open the door to new experiences in pleasure and wellness.

To learn more about the health benefits of prostate stimulation, you can read our article Can Prostate Play Keep the Doctor Away but today we are going to focus on how to stimulate this incredibly sensitive bundle of nerves.

Where is the prostate?

The prostate is a gland that sits between the bladder and penis. It’s about the size of a walnut and swells up when you are aroused. Because it is inside the body, you can’t touch it directly.

How do I prep for prostate exploration?

It’s not a bad idea to try an anal douche before getting started. It can help you feel cleaner and more relaxed going into the experience. Make sure your (or your partner’s) fingernails are trimmed and smooth, since the tissues in and around the anus are delicate and can tear easily. You’ll also want a great lubricant on hand. Unlike the vagina, the rectum doesn’t self-lubricate, so generous amounts of high-quality lube are essential for comfort and safety. If you’re still feeling a little hesitant about using fingers, some people prefer to wear a condom or latex glove to make things feel a bit more comfortable and less intimidating.

What position is best for prostate stimulation?

Find a position that is comfortable for you but still gives access to your behind. Hands and knees works great with a partner or scooting right to the edge of a chair with your partner on the ground between your knees. You can also try laying on your back with pillows between your hips and your legs apart, feet planted on the bed.

How to find the prostate

There are two methods. Through the rectum (anally) or through the perineum (the taint).

If you’re feeling nervous, start with external exploration first. You or your partner can gently massage the perineum (sometimes called the taint), slowly increasing pressure as you go. Since you’re working through layers of muscle and tissue, it may take a little more pressure before things start to feel pleasurable. The nerve endings in the perineum are connected to the prostate, so even external touch can feel surprisingly intense. If fingertips aren’t quite doing it, try using the knuckle of a bent finger for firmer, broader pressure. Every body responds differently, so take your time, stay patient, and pay attention to what feels good.

Internally, the prostate is about 2-3 inches inside the rectum towards the front of the body. It is a rounded surface about the size of a walnut. Here are some basic rules to follow

  1. Start slow, with some massage of the butt cheeks, along the crack and circle the anus with lubricant.
  2. Relax and allow arousal to build. That will swell the prostate, making it easier to find.
  3. Gently insert a well lubricated finger into the rectum when you’re ready and try the “come hither” motion gently searching for that rounded surface.
